Dennis and I have a Garmin...old one. We use it to record where we've caught fish at Conchas Dam and Lake Havasu. We can go back to the same spot and find fish on the boat's fish finder, but odds are we won't ever CATCH one there again. But...they are fun to play with ( I know....you don't end a sentence with a preposition!).

[...] Mom bought a GPS! A Garmin, of course — could there be any other? She’s officially a geek now, although she’s been on the honorary geek rolls for quite some time due to her quick and accurate absorption of all things technical, either in her former workplace or when following the doubles tennis-like geek discussions between my brother, Thomas, my father, Justin and I.
I'm glad Justin found the terrific deal on the Garmin i3, your "Garmie," and that you now have GPS navigation capabilities in The Scarlet Lady. In earlier days, the Lady would have a retinue of men and women at her disposal to handle such mundane matters, but today a GPS fits the bill quite nicely. A GPS is only a luxury until the moment you need one... ;-)

Besides, you got a terrific deal -- you got Garmie for less than we spent on our latest bicyling GPS units, so that's food for thought. And yet you got a fully matured system with no bugs and surprising little taken away from the featureset Justin and I are used to from dealing in the higher end units (for aviation and full-time vehicle navigation.)

My Mom's a Geek, and I'm proud of it! ;-)
